Format: Paperback

This is a good, well-researched volume on the built religious environment of the United States. Mr. Williams carefully establishes the history of this architecture in seven specific regions. The index of names is a disappointing alternative to a more extensive and general index. I also wished that the publisher (University of Illinois) had been able to provide additional photographic documentation.
